Are you ready to start? Let’s Weave!

Please read and see all the instructions before starting, I will guide step by step.

and if You are ready open your box and you will find:

A spray bottle
A cutter
All the rattan you’ll need to make your basket, you have two groups:
One group is the splits ( rattan already cut) we will make the structure of you basket with it:
Second group the long strands will use it to weave! yeah! so excited!
The plastic box you will use it as well

You will need a meter to measure, so go and found it. I will be right here waiting for you to start…

1. First things First

Install yourself on the floor or in chair, in a confortable space, put some musique and yeah… Let’s do it, i’m with you!

Fill your plastic box and you spray bottle with tempered water, soak all the rattan in your plastic box and leave it for 3- 5 minutes.
You will take out the splits of rattan (those already cut) and we will make a cross same with the same quantity 8 and 8, no worries, you will have a the photo below. (you have more than 16 just in case)

3. All the magic starts now! You will take one a long rattan strand ( cord) to fix the cross and you will start from left to right to turn around up and down, you will turn 3 times, please see the video down here:

4. So you have 4 groups now, each group you will split it into 2-2-2-2 except for one group which will be divided into 3-3-2, yes I have a photo of this. If you feel you rattan is already dry, no worries, I got your back that’s why you have the Spray bottle with water to keep the rattan humide.

5. Now, I will ask you to some concentration and all you manual skills to do this, you are all ready weaving, look at you! This technique is the round technique, to do this basket you will need to complete circular of between 11/ 12 cm, this is your base so be careful. Check the video:

7. You finish the round, you got 12 cm? Good! We are in the middle of the process, now you have to work your rattan, you will turn or fold it carefully to weave the length. Do not let the rattan dry, check the video:

8. Already finish the fist rattan strand, I will show you how to start weaving with a second, video please:

9. We are going to weave the length you have to complete until 8 cm, yes, yes almost finish.

10.. You did it ! ;-)

You will need the cutter, you remember the split 2-3-3, you will cut one of each group of three, please do not cute one the middle. left or right. Now you have 2-2-2 check the photo.

11) Let’s close your rattan basket now, check the videos, spray your rattan, the rattan needs to be very flexible, because you will need to bend it, please be careful, check the three videos:
